Restrictions and usage rights

All of the following information pertains to commercial licensing of library music.
Restrictions and usage rights pertinent to new projects are laid out in the Contract for Services.

By purchasing a commercial license, you or your company is granted a limited, nontransferrable license to use library music composed by Allan Rosenthal Production Music Composition (hereinafter, AR/PMC) in most applications. AR/PMC reserves the right to revoke this license at any time, for any reason, with or without prior notice. If AR/PMC chooses to revoke your license, a notice of same will be sent to you or your company's legal department. At this point, you will no longer be entitled to use AR/PMC library music and will be expected to discontinue use within a reasonable time frame, not to exceed 30 days.

Under most conditions, there is no reason for AR/PMC to revoke a license. However, there are a number of restrictions placed upon what applications are permissible for AR/PMC library music. Licensees are enjoined from the use of AR/PMC library music in any of the following applications.

· Political applications of any kind, including applications that are not explicitly political, but serve as promotion or aggrandisement of a candidate, special interest, or ballot measure.

· Religious applications of any kind.

· The genres of filmmaking known as shock video, snuff film, horror, and adult entertainment.

· Broadcasts, podcasts, or audiovisual materials in which more than 2% of the total duration of the song being used is heard without a voiceover or sound effects.

· Broadcasts, podcasts, or audiovisual materials which advocate for the violent overthrow of the United States federal government or any state or local governing body.

· Use of any kind by hate groups; to wit, organisations dedicated to the spread of hatred for or violence against a specific facet of society based upon their race, religion, gender, sex, or sexual orientation.

It is at the sole discretion of AR/PMC whether these restrictions apply in a particular case.
